Day 1 - Thursday, 11/11/2021 - AFC's Florida tour avoids hurricane season, which is traditionally June-Oct. Fly Tampa / Coach to Sarasota Arrive in Tampa, meet your Tour Manager and board your motorcoach for the scenic drive south to Sarasota. |
Day 2 - Friday, 11/12/2021 - Ringling Museum & Mansion Morning tour of the elaborate estate of "Circus King" John Ringling. Visit his opulent Venetian style 1926 Ca' d'Zan mansion which harkens back to the wealthy Gilded Age. Tour the 21 world-class art galleries in buildings that emulate the Uffizi in Florence. Enjoy the Circus Museum before returning to Sarasota for tonight's Get Acquainted Dinner. - Breakfast - Dinner |
Day 3 - Saturday, 11/13/2021 - Sarasota to Ft. Lauderdale Motor south to seaside Ft. Myers to tour the riverfront summer estates of two of America's great innovators: Thomas Edison's 1906 Seminole Lodge and Henry Ford's 1916 Mangoes. Enjoy an included lunch here. Next, drive east along Alligator Alley Parkway through the 1.5 million acre Everglades National Park. Stop at the visitor's center here. This is the largest subtropical wilderness wetland in the U.S. and is home to birds, reptiles, fish, & cats. Stop to take an exciting airboat ride through the wildlife rich waters of this national treasure. Continue on to Ft. Lauderdale, located right on the Intercoastal Waterway. - Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner |
Day 4 - Sunday, 11/14/2021 - Miami Tour / Canal Cruise Drive south down Florida's Gold Coast for your morning tour of Miami. Visit the Venetian Pool in Coral Gables. Then, drive past Vizcaya Mansion, through downtown Miami, and cross over to world famous Miami South Beach, home to many 1930's art deco buildings. Return to Ft. Lauderdale for your afternoon narrated canal cruise past millionaire homes in the "Venice of America." This evening, dinner is at a fine local restaurant. - Breakfast - Dinner |
Day 5 - Monday, 11/15/2021 - Ft. Lauderdale to Key West Motor southwest over the spectacular Overseas Highway, passing tropical islands, crystal-blue Caribbean waters, and world famous fishing and diving locales. This 127 mile engineering marvel was completed in 1938 and uses much of the right of way of Henry Flagler's 1912 Overseas Railroad. Arrive at the quaint resort of Key West, the southernmost point of the Continental US. Enjoy a beautiful Key West sunset before dinner on your own. - Breakfast |
Day 6 - Tuesday, 11/16/2021 - Key West Sights Your morning tour will include the Ernest Hemingway house and the Winter White House used by Truman and Kennedy. Your ride on the Conch Tour Train will include Mallory Square, Duval Street, the lighthouse, old Fort Zachary Taylor, and the narrow streets of this historic village by the sea. Free time to explore on your own or relax at your resort hotel. Tonight, enjoy your Farewell Dinner at another fine local restaurant. - Breakfast - Dinner |
Day 7 - Wednesday, 11/17/2021 - To Ft. Lauderdale / Fly Home Return on the scenic Overseas Highway past the resort islands of Marathon, Islamorada, and Key Largo. Arrive back at the Ft. Lauderdale Airport for your return flights home. - Breakfast |
