Day 1 - Saturday, 10/2/2021 - Fly to Philly / Coach to the Brandywine Valley Arrive in Philadelphia, meet your Tour Manager, and coach to the Brandywine Valley for four nights. |
Day 2 - Sunday, 10/3/2021 - Du Pont Mansions Today, we will visit two fantastic DuPont mansions, both elegant estates in their own ways. First, we drive south into Delaware to tour the opulent Nemours mansion, former home of Alfred du Pont. Using his vast fortune from inventing smokeless gunpowder, Alfred built a classical French chateau country estate in 1910 and filled it with antiques, art and tapestries from the 1700's. This afternoon, tour incredible Longwood Gardens, the former home of Pierre du Pont. Built between 1907-1914, these formal French gardens are filled with fountains, water jets, greenhouses, and a Chime Tower. Day 3 - Monday, 10/4/2021 - Hershey / Amish Country Today, visit the town chocolate built. Tour the Hershey Story, a museum dedicated to celebrating the life of Milton Hershey, whose legacy includes the 1933 Hershey Hotel, Milton Hershey School, Chocolate World, and more. Next, motor to the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, home of the Amish and Mennonites. Enjoy a delicious Amish dinner: great tasing comfort food served family style. - Breakfast - Dinner |
Day 4 - Tuesday, 10/5/2021 - Day Trip to Philadelphia A short drive brings us to the City of Brotherly Love, and one of the hotbeds of the American Revolution. Your narrated city tour will include allthe highlights: Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Elfreth's Alley, Penn's Landing, and the National Constitution Center. Enjoy an included lunch at historic, colonial City Tavern prior to returning to your hotel. - Breakfast - Lunch |
Day 5 - Wednesday, 10/6/2021 - Brandywine to Poconos This morning, drive north through scenic Pennsylvania farmlands into the Lehigh River Valley, and the beautiful Pocono Mountains.Arrive outside Stroudsburg at our 1905 secluded riverfront inn for two nights. Fred Waring & his band broadcasted from this very hotel in the 1950's. Enjoy dinner at the hotel tonight. - Breakfast - Dinner |
Day 6 - Thursday, 10/7/2021 - Poconos & Jim Thorpe Take in the view on a circle drive through the forested mountains of the Poconos. Witness the incredible fall foliage, and stop in the historic Victorian town of Jim Thorpe. Named for the Native American star athlete and Olympic champion who is buried here, this quaint town is home to the famous 1861 Asa Packer Mansion. Return to your hotel and relax prior to your Farewell Dinner together. - Breakfast - Dinner |
Day 7 - Friday, 10/8/2021 - Drive to Newark / Fly Home Depart to Nazareth, home of the famous Martin Guitar. Take a tour and learn about six generations of history, and the musicians, like Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, who preferred Martins.
