Day 1 - Friday, 11/29/2019 - Fly to Virginia A festive holiday trip begins as you fly to Colonial Williamsburg. Upon arrival, check into your lovely hotel within walking distance of the historic settlement, and enjoy a Welcome Reception. |
Day 2 - Saturday, 11/30/2019 - Parade in Williamsburg / Christmas Town Busch Gardens Enjoy breakfast before heading out to Merchants Square for the festive Christmas Parade. Usher in the holiday season in Williamsburg with floats, bands, civic and animal groups, all highlighted by our special guests, Santa & Mrs. Claus, depicting the WINTER WONDERLAND theme! This evening, be enchanted with the millions of lights, sights, and sounds of Christmas Town at Busch Gardens. Day 3 - Sunday, 12/1/2019 - Grand Illumination Today Colonial Williamsburg’s Holiday season officially begins with the Grand Illumination. This morning, learn about the history of the city as your guide takes you for a walk through the historic settlement. Enjoy lunch on your own along high street and explore the area on your own this afternoon. This evening is the spectacular illumination as the Revolutionary City lights up with fireworks, bonfires, and candles twinkling in the windows of the buildings. Enjoy live music from fifes and drums and other special activities that are sure to put you in the holiday spirit! Day 4 - Monday, 12/2/2019 - Jamestown / Powhatan After breakfast it’s off to historic Jamestown, the first permanent English colony settled in 1607. Your guide will share with you the stories of the settlers and explore the living history museum. Discover the Powhatan Indian way of life and see the type of ships that brought colonists to Virginia. Stop for lunch at the Old Chickahominy house, serving up great southern food, and also a three story antique and gift shop. This afternoon, return to the hotel for leisure time and then an evening of entertainment in the historic area. - Breakfast - Lunch |
Day 5 - Tuesday, 12/3/2019 - Yorktown Enjoy breakfast, then get acquainted with Yorktown.This town was critical in the Revolutionary War and Civil War. Your guide will share stories with you as you walk in the footsteps of America’s forefathers. At Yorktown Battlefield, see where George Washington secured America’s Independence in 1781. Yorktown is also known for its waterfront charm on historic Riverwalk Landing. Stroll the boutique shops and dine on your own at as you admire the town’s 18th-c. architecture---it may be hard to imagine that fierce fighting ever took place nearby. Return this afternoon to enjoy more of the numerous special holiday activities at your leisure in Colonial Williamsburg. - Breakfast |
Day 6 - Wednesday, 12/4/2019 - American Revolution Museum / Yankee Candle Village After breakfast, take a guided tour of the American Revolution Museum. Learn about America’s struggle for independence, from colonial unrest to the formation of the new nation. Next, discover that Yankee Candle is far more than just a candle store. Dip your own taper and enjoy the fresh made fudge, or do some shopping and enjoy the entertainment. Return to the hotel and enjoy last minute shopping before an entertaining, delicious farewell holiday dinner at Campbells Tavern - the main course is traditional fried chicken. - Breakfast - Dinner |
