Daily Itinerary:

Day 1 Wednesday, 6/5/2024 - Fly to San Francisco
Upon arrival meet your Tour Director and transfer to your hotel to begin a two night stay in one of the world’s most beautiful cities, San Francisco. “The City by the Bay” highlights fascinating museums, world-class cuisine & amazing shopping. Tonight enjoy a Welcome Dinner with your fellow travelers.
Day 2 Thursday, 6/6/2024 - San Francisco / Cruise / Muir Woods
Today enjoy a San Francisco City Tour to see the Civic Center area, Chinatown, Golden Gate Park, Union Square, Seal Rocks, and Pier 39. Experience a San Francisco Bay Cruise. View the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the city’s skyline. This afternoon cross over the Golden Gate Bridge enroute to Muir Woods National Monument. See some of the oldest and tallest Redwood trees in the world. Later enjoy leisure time to browse the stores along Fisherman’s Wharf, sample a chowder filled sourdough bread bowl, or take a Cable Car ride.
Day 3 Friday, 6/7/2024 - Napa Winery / Sacramento
This morning travel into California’s famous Napa Valley, where hundreds of wineries prosper. Stop for a Winery Tour & Tasting to sample local wines while learning about wine making. Napa is best known for its prodigious Cabernet Sauvignon production, yet conditions are favorable for a wide range of grapes. This afternoon travel to Sacramento and arrive at the Old Sacramento Waterfront. Visit the California State Railroad Museum to see beautifully restored railroad cars and locomotives.  The Old Sacramento Waterfront was the commercial hub of the Gold Rush Era. Later check into your hotel for an overnight stay in the “River City”.  Tonight join your fellow travelers for dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 4 Saturday, 6/8/2024 - Sierra Nevada Rail
Board an Amtrak Train for your Sierra Nevada Rail Journey. It’s one of the most beautiful train trips in all of North America, and as you climb east through the snow-capped Sierra Nevadas, you may find it hard to disagree. This train travels over the original route of America’s First Transcontinental Railroad and over the infamous Donner Pass. Disembark in Truckee and coach to the spectacular resort area of South Lake Tahoe for a three night stay (altitude 6,200').
Day 5 Sunday, 6/9/2024 - Reno / Virginia City
Travel through historic Carson City, Nevada, capital of the Silver State enroute to Reno (altitude 4,500') and see the iconic ‘The Biggest Little City in the World’ sign. Visit Reno’s famous National Automobile Museum, recognized as one of the top auto museums in the world featuring the original Harrah Auto Collection of gaming pioneer Bill Harrah. Then visit Virginia City, site of the Comstock Lode and once the richest place in the world. The famous Old West town was once the west’s mining metropolis and featured notable residents Mark Twain and Bret Harte. Return to your Lake Tahoe resort for an evening at your own pace.
Day 6 Monday, 6/10/2024 - Lake Tahoe Cruise
Today enjoy a Lake Tahoe Paddle Wheeler Cruise for spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Emerald Bay which features the 1929 Nordic-style mansion Vikingsholm. Later, enjoy leisure time in the Lake Tahoe area.   Tonight’s Farewell Dinner is at a popular local restaurant.
Day 7 Tuesday, 6/11/2024 - Sacramento / Fly Home
Today transfer to the Sacramento airport and return home with wonderful memories.
