View the IMAX movie, The Price of Freedom, which recreates the events leading up to the famous battle at the Alamo. Then, tour the Alamo, where Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie fought for Texas independence in 1836. Enjoy an included lunch before exploring the Buckhorn Saloon & Museum, featuring wildlife from all over the world, collected for over 100 years! The original saloon owners accepted animal oddities and trophies as payment, and the exhibit halls hold over 520 species—many of which are record holders. Over at the Texas Ranger Museum you’ll see priceless historic artifacts that span more than a century of Ranger history. This evening, take a narrated river cruise, meandering beneath thousands of twinkling lights and past famous luminaries casting a magical glow as they reflect off the river and towering oak trees.

After breakfast, head to the Texas hills and visit the Museum of Western Art, exhibiting contemporary cowboy artwork, including well-known Western artists. Lunch is at the Silver Spur Guest Ranch. You’ll be treated to a hearty ranch-style home cooked meal before embarking on an historic hay ride and tour of the ranch and a stop to feed the longhorn catlle. They come running! Enjoy a roping demonstration, and maybe even try it yourself. Return to San Antonio for free time.

Following breakfast, head to the King Williams District, the city’s most exclusive residential area during the 1800’s, and tour historic Steves Homestead, an elegant 3-story mansion, and the Majestic Theater, gorgeously restored to its 1929 Spanish Mediterranean style. Enjoy free time and lunch on your own at El Mercado, the largest Mexican market outside of Mexico. This afternoon, visit the Institute of Texas Cultures, displaying the rich ethnic diversity of the state, home to over 25 unique cultures. Finish your day by ascending the Tower of the Americas (750’ high) for your included Farewell Dinner at the Chart House Restaurant from 580’ feet up in the revolving tower, offering panoramic views of downtown San Antonio.

Enjoy a free morning to relax or do some last minute shopping. Finally, depart for the airport and your return flights home.
