Day 1
Wednesday, 4/4/2018 - Fly to Washington D.C.
Upon arrival at the airport, meet your tour manager. Then, check into your hotel for the next 6 nights.
Day 2
Thursday, 4/5/2018 - Memorials / U.S. Capitol
After breakfast, visit four impressive memorials: the National World War II Memorial, plus the Lincoln Memorial, and Korean and Vietnam war memorials. Then, it’s up to Capitol Hill to visit the Capitol Visitor’s Center, highlighting the US lawmaking process. Visit the Library of Congress, the largest national library in the world. Also, view the exterior of the Supreme Court Building. This evening, walk through The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, designed as a living memorial to JFK. Then, enjoy dinner at a fine local restaurant.
Day 3
Friday, 4/6/2018 - D.C.'s "Hidden Gems"
Discover a hidden gem: tour the incredible 1905 Anderson House, the winter residence of a US diplomat to Japan. Then, at Fort Myer in Arlington, see the soldiers & horses of the Cassion Platoon of the Old Guard. This is the equestrian troupe that carries the caskets to be buried at the cemetery. Also, see the Marine Corps War Memorial (the Iwo Jima Statue). Dinner is on your own tonight.
Day 4
Saturday, 4/7/2018 - Nat. Cathedral / Mt. Vernon / Old Town Alexandria
Explore the unique Mansion on O Street, with its 100 rooms and 70 secret doors. Then, drive down Embassy Row en route to the Washington National Cathedral, a 14th century-style gothic wonder and the 6th largest church in the world. Later, visit Mt. Vernon, the estate of George Washington. See the education center, plus the historic house and a view of the Potomac. Tonight, after dinner at a fine local restaurant, embark on a driving tour of old town Alexandria. See Georgian-style Christ Church, Robert E. Lee’s boyhood home, an historic apothecary shop (now a museum), and G.W. Masonic National Memorial.
Day 5
Sunday, 4/8/2018 - Arlington / Free Time
After breakfast, arrive at Arlington National Cemetery, America’s shrine to valor and sacrifice.  Board your tourmobile tram to see the John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy graves, plus the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This afternoon, enjoy free time to visit the world famous Smithsonian Institutes on the National Mall, such as the Air & Space, Natural History, American History, or Gallery of Art. Dinner tonight at a fine local restaurant is again included.
Day 6
Monday, 4/9/2018 - D.C.'s "Hidden Gems"
First, stop at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, with its fantastic Byzantine mosaics. Then, tour another hidden gem, President Lincoln’s Cottage. For 3 years during the Civil War, Lincoln and his family resided here from June to November. After lunch on your own at the Reagan Building & International Trade Center, partake in a special visit to the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. Tonight, enjoy your Farewell Dinner at a fine local restaurant.
Day 7
Tuesday, 4/10/2018 - White House / Fly Home
Visit the White House Visitor’s Center, offering a window into the president’s iconic home. Then, time for one of the many Smithsonian museums before arriving at the airport for your flight home. What a great adventure we have all had together here in our nation’s capital!
