Day 1
Wednesday, 10/11/2017 - Fly to Washington D.C.
Upon arrival at Dulles airport, meet your AFC tour manager. Then, transfer to your hotel in Arlington for the next 6 nights.
Day 2
Thursday, 10/12/2017 - Memorials / U.S. Capitol
After breakfast, visit four impressive memorials: the National World War II Memorial, plus the Lincoln Memorial, and Korean and Vietnam war memorials. Then, it’s up to Capitol Hill to visit the NEW Capitol Visitor’s Center. Enjoy a walking tour of the US Capitol, home of our lawmaking Congress, and the Library of Congress, the largest national library in the world. Also, view the exterior of the Supreme Court Building. Return to your hotel for a free evening.

Friday, 10/13/2017 - Washington D.C. Sites
Enjoy a morning tour through the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, designated as a living memorial to President Kennedy. Next, a hidden gem: tour the incredible 1905 Anderson House, the winter residence of an American diplomat to Japan. Then, visit Fort Myer in Arlington to see the soldiers & horses of the Cassion Platoon of the Old Guard. This is the equestrian troupe that carries the caskets to be buried at the cemetery. Also, see the Marine Corps War Memorial (the Iwo Jima Statue). Tonight, enjoy dinner at a fine local restaurant.

Saturday, 10/14/2017 - Mt. Vernon / Smithsonians
You start in Alexandria at Mt. Vernon, the estate of George Washington. See the buildings and view of the Potomac. Then, drive down Embassy Row en route to the Washington National Cathedral, a 14th century-style gothic wonder and the 6th largest church in the world. This afternoon, enjoy free time to visit one or more of the world famous Smithsonian Institutes, such as the Air & Space, Natural History, American History, or Gallery of Art. Tonight, enjoy our Night Illumination tour of our capitol city, including the fabulous memorials for Martin Luther King Jr., Thomas Jefferson, Franklin Roosevelt, and the US Air Force.

Sunday, 10/15/2017 - Arlington / White House
After breakfast, arrive at Arlington National Cemetery, America’s shrine to valor and sacrifice.  Board your tourmobile tram to see the John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy graves, plus the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Then, drive up to visit the NEW White House Visitor’s Center, offering a window into the president’s iconic home. Dinner tonight at a fine local restaurant is included.

Monday, 10/16/2017 - D.C.'s "Hidden Gems"
First, stop at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, with its fantastic Byzantine mosaics. Then, tour another hidden gem, President Lincoln’s Cottage. For 3 years during the Civil War, Lincoln and his family resided here from June to November. After lunch at the Reagan Building & International Trade Center, a special visit to the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia. Tonight, your Farewell Dinner will be at the unique Mansion on O Street, with its 100 rooms and 70 secret doors.

Tuesday, 10/17/2017 - Free Time / Fly Home
Free time this morning to visit one of the many free Smithsonian museums along the National Mall. Then, arrive at Dulles airport for your flight home. What a great adventure we have all had together in our nation’s capital!
