Day 1 - Tuesday, 9/25/2018 - Fly to Providence, RI / Cape Cod Fly to Providence and coach out to the Cape and the town of Yarmouth, your beachfront resort hotel home for 3 nights. |
Day 2 - Wednesday, 9/26/2018 - Day Trip to Nantucket Depart for Hyannis and board the one hour high speed ferry over to Nantucket Island, an old colonial town filled with whaling history. Take a bus tour of this unique resort island, ending in the old Historic District and visit the Nantucket Whaling Museum. After enjoying dinner at a local Nantucket restaurant, return via a sunset cruise to the mainland and your hotel. - Breakfast - Lunch - Dinner |
Day 3 - Thursday, 9/27/2018 - Day Trip to Martha's Vineyard Ride the ferry to the island of Martha’s Vineyard, a summer vacation retreat for both families and the rich & famous. Enjoy a tour around the island to see Vineyard Haven and Edgertown. See cedar shingle houses covered in wild roses and historic lighthouses. Return by ferry to your resort. Day 4 - Friday, 9/28/2018 - Yarmouth to Boston Today, you’ll motor north off the Cape to learn about the pilgrims of 1620 in Plymouth. Tour recreated English & Native villages at Plimoth Plantation and stop by the “Rock” marking the first Pilgrim settlement. Lunch is included before heading north to Boston, Bean Town, and home of the Red Sox. Tour the impressive JFK Library before checking into our hotel. Day 5 - Saturday, 9/29/2018 - Boston Sights Meet our local guide for a morning city tour of Boston. Follow the Freedom Trail, filled with colonial history, to see the Boston Common, New & Old Statehouses, Tea Party site, Old North Church, and Old Ironsides. Lunch is on your own at famous Quincy Market, and see historic Faneuil Hall. Then, visit the Back Bay to see the unique Mapparium. Return to your hotel prior to dinner at a fine local restaurant. - Breakfast - Dinner |
Day 6 - Sunday, 9/30/2018 - Boston to Boothbay Harbor Motor north into Maine and drive along the scenic rocky coastline for an included lunch in seaside Kennebunkport. View Walker’s Point, the summer home of George Bush Sr. In Bath, the nation’s fifth largest seaport and major 1850’s shipbuilder, tour the extensive Maine Maritime Museum. Later, arrive in picturesque Boothbay Harbor and check into your waterfront Inn. Dinner is on your own at one of the many restaurants within walking distance. - Breakfast - Lunch |
Day 7 - Monday, 10/1/2018 - Botanical Gardens After breakfast, discover the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, a stunning hidden gem on the ocean. Shop in town, prior to an afternoon cruise of Maine's prettiest harbor, past summer cottages, lighthouses, small islands, and seals. Tonight we all meet up for our Farewell Dinner at the hotel. - Breakfast - Dinner |
Day 8 - Tuesday, 10/2/2018 - Freeport Shopping / Fly Home After breakfast, stop in Freeport to shop at the many factory outlet stores, including the flagship store for LL Bean! Motor to Portland and fly home. - Breakfast |
