Next, visit Garden of the Gods to view towering sandstone rock formations against a backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak and brilliant blue skies. Day 3
Monday, 6/14/2010 - Royal Gorge Railway
Today, journey to Canon City, home of the Royal Gorge Scenic Railway. A century ago, this was the busiest train route through the Rockies. Today, air horns echo off the hard rock walls as the train passes through the gorge pausing on the Hanging Bridge. Look down to watch rafters battle the rapids, and then look up to see the underbelly of the Royal Gorge Bridge, the world's highest suspension bridge, strung almost a quarter-mile overhead.

Day 4
Tuesday, 6/15/2010 - Cumbres & Toltec Railroad
Experience America’s most spectacular narrow gauge steam railroad as we ride the original Rio Grande Line over the Rockies aboard the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. Travel up steep grades, over high trestles, through tunnels, and along narrow shelves above yawning gorges. Relive the history of the miners and loggers that traveled the same route years ago. You may also recognise portions from being featured in several movies, including Indiana Jones. Lunch is included in historic Ostier.

Lunch
Day 5
Wednesday, 6/16/2010 - Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad
Get ready for one of the top ten most exciting train journeys in the world as we board the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. A great adventure traveling by coal-fired, steam-powered locomotive on the same tracks miners, cowboys and settlers of the old west took over a century ago. Wind through breathtaking canyons in the remote wilderness of the two-million acre San Juan National Forest.

Day 6
Thursday, 6/17/2010 - Georgetown Loop Railroad / Denver
The rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains surround you as an old-time narrow gauge steam locomotive chugs its way through the canyon past the remains of several gold and silver mines. To connect the mines the railroad’s builders designed a corkscrew route that traveled nearly twice the distance, slowly gaining more than 600 feet in elevation. It includes horseshoe curves, grades up to 4 percent, and four bridges across Clear Creek, including the massive Devil’s Gate High Bridge. Marvel at the tremendous engineering feat, and unsurpassed scenery. Continue to Denver, home for the next two nights.
